Home » How long are therapy sessions?
A standard counseling session lasts 45 to 50 minutes, which allows time for both dedicated therapeutic work and brief administrative wrap-up. This standard duration applies whether you are attending individual, couples, or family therapy.
To fit different treatment goals and needs, we offer two main session lengths:
Standard Sessions (45–50 Minutes): Ideal for weekly check-ins, routine goal-setting, and focused therapeutic work. This is the default format for most client appointments.
Extended Sessions (75–80 Minutes): Available upon request for an additional cost. Longer appointments can be especially beneficial for complex family or couples dynamics, deep trauma work (such as EMDR), or clients traveling longer distances for care.
Which option should I choose?
Your therapist can help you determine the best schedule and session length based on your specific goals, therapeutic needs, and budget. You can adjust your session duration as your care plan evolves.
