Play therapy is a type of counseling for children that uses play as their “language” to express thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Children often communicate through play more easily than words. Your involvement depends on your child’s age and needs. Younger children may need more parent participation, while older children often benefit from private therapy sessions. Therapists provide updates and guidance to help you support your child at home.
Yes. If your child has a parenting plan, custody agreement, or court documentation, we are required to request copies of this documentation and in most cases, attempt to collect signatures from the biological parents or legal guardian that has medical decision making rights, before the child can begin therapy with us.
