Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach
Jesus makes all things new.
Our past shapes us, yet it does not define us. You are made for freedom, and I would be honored to accompany you on your journey to freedom. In life, you may face many trials, yet you do not have to face them alone. Healing and transformation can happen in your life, and I believe the power of prayer and relationship can help bring about that change.
Whether you are carrying pain from your past, are heavy laden with grief and burdens, or feel overwhelmed by life transitions, my hope is that our sessions together will lead you to live a fuller life.
What to Expect in Therapy
In therapy, you can come as you are. You will enter a non-judgmental space where your story and experiences are valued, honored, and cherished. Therapy does not have to be filled solely with pain and sorrow – I also weave humor, laughter, and joy into our time together.
In our sessions, we will take time to get to know one another. Sharing your story with someone new can be intimidating, but as we continue to get to know each other, I hope to establish trust as the foundation of our therapeutic relationship.
We will also collaborate on setting your goals for therapy. Through the creation of goals, the externalization of your story, and the use of techniques like CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, and narrative therapy, you will gain further awareness and insight as you work toward healing and change in your life.
Qualifications and Experience
After facing grief and loss at a young age, I developed a deep sense of empathy and compassion for others. I knew that I wanted to give my life to love and serve others in need. I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder in Sociology and minored in Dance and Religious Studies. I am currently receiving my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from Denver Seminary.
I have worked in residential programs with teen survivors of sex trafficking, mothers who are survivors of sex trafficking, and women and children experiencing homelessness. Prior to this work, I was a youth minister and college campus missionary. I have spent many years walking alongside children, teens, young adults, and families who have experienced many difficulties in life. It has been an honor to do so, and I am excited to continue to walk with people as a therapist.
Personal Life and Interests
Overall, I am a joyous person and love to laugh! I love spending quality time with my family and friends, going on walks and hikes, and dancing. You will often find me drinking Dr. Pepper or a white chocolate mocha, or snacking on some candy! I am also a survivor of cancer.
I am married, and we have a one-year-old and a 2.5-year-old! We currently spend many hours per day playing baseball, watching baseball movies, dancing, playing at the park, or singing songs from Moana and Frozen!
