    Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach

Therapy is a courageous step toward healing, and each therapeutic relationship is a unique partnership built on your story, values, and individuality. My goal is to create a compassionate, judgment-free space where you can explore, grow, and thrive.

I believe “healing emerges not in the absence of pain but in the faithful integration of pain and hope” (Mark McMinn). Therapy is a sacred space where we embrace the entirety of your story, finding strength in both your challenges and your aspirations. It is my honor to walk alongside you as you map out a path for wellness—one that includes healthier thinking, more peaceful emotions, and self-controlled choices—all while honoring your personal values and beliefs.

My approach blends proven methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with insights from Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), emphasizing how the brain, body, and relationships shape our experiences.

    what to Expect in Therapy

Therapy is a relationship where we collaborate to listen to you. Whatever your motivation or reason to start on this journey, you can expect me to honor your time and respect your perspective and story. Trust is central to the process, and we will build it together, step by step.

I bring focus, attentiveness, compassion, and creativity to each session, offering practical tools and insights to support your growth and help you move forward. I also provide a bilingual and bicultural perspective, a commitment to meeting you where you are, and a passion for helping you create meaningful, lasting change in your life.

    Personal Qualifications and Experience

Growing up, I was surrounded by values of compassion, respect, and self-discovery. These principles shaped my view of the world and inspired me to pursue a professional path that helps others. I have also experienced my own hardships that led me into the counseling room to grow and heal. I have seen firsthand the freedom and transformation therapy can bring to our lives when we give it a chance.

My professional background spans from ministry roles to social services settings serving youth and families. I worked extensively with foster care and community-based programs facilitating social support and helping families achieve positive outcomes. Having the opportunity to observe trauma, stress, loss, and professional burnout and how they can impact overall well-being challenged me to pursue my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University and step into my calling as a counselor.

    Personal Interests

When I’m not in the therapy room, you will often find me expressing my love and creativity through cooking. Cooking is one of my favorite ways to bring people together, whether I’m experimenting with new recipes or preparing comforting meals for family and friends.

I am married, and we have two wonderful dogs (Kumi, a gentle Great Pyrenees, and Kanji, a lively lab mix) who add so much joy to our days. My husband and I are fans of obstacle course races and love spending time together training for them and being a part of the community these events create nationwide.

I am a huge fan of soul and Spanish music, and I could rewatch all Marvel movies endlessly—I love the blend of heart, adventure, and resilience in those stories. The ocean has always inspired me with its vastness and power; my soul lights up when I spend time by the ocean. My favorite travels have taken me to Mexico, where I was originally born and raised, and Costa Rica. Having lived in Texas and Mexico, I cherish any opportunity to visit and spend time with loved ones there enjoying meaningful connections that fuel my soul.
