Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach
Counseling is not a one-size-fits all process. I believe that everyone possesses unique qualities contributing to the person God has created them to be. The therapeutic relationship I strive for in practice encompasses the individual dynamic each one brings to the process. Your specific treatment and plan should reflect your voice and honor your desires in seeking help.
What to Expect in Therapy
My goal for each encounter is to create a safe and inviting environment in which you feel comfortable enough to share your story. I am here to listen and guide your session in order for you to engage and discover new possibilities to enhance effective outcomes. Sometimes it may be hard to open up about sensitive topics, and that’s okay. Together, we will navigate through difficult subjects and approach the appropriate treatment specific to you and your needs. My passion is bringing healing to people who have encountered stressful experiences in order for them to truly live with the purpose God intends.
Personal Qualifications and Experience
I obtained a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University. My internship and studies prepared and enriched my knowledge in areas of therapeutic communication and counseling skills, as well as solidified my understanding of the “Wonderful Counselor” we have to call on to guide our paths.
Personal Interests
I am married to my amazing retired military husband and mom to three amazing and hilarious kids who teach me something new every day. We have lived all over, including three years in Japan, but have to admit that Colorado is our new favorite place to call home. I am passionate about college ministry and am active in a local organization that focuses on bringing God’s Word to Air Force cadets. In my spare time I love to hike, anywhere, anytime, and play board games, eat popcorn, and drink hot cocoa with my kids!
