Now introducing our intern, Justine Greever! We recently brought some incredible Masters-Level interns onto our team, and we want YOU to get to know them in our interview-style blog series!
1. What draws you to the counseling field?  Why do you want to become a therapist?
I believe we were created for relationships by a relational God. I value the collaborative nature of the therapy relationship and see this relationship as a safe space to wrestle with pain and brokenness.
I love hearing people’s stories and feel honored to walk alongside others during some of their most difficult seasons. I often say that some of our deepest pain comes from hurt in relationships, and because of this I feel that those deep hurts need to be healed in the presence of safe and
caring relationships.
2. HAVE YOU BEEN THROUGH COUNSELING YOURSELF?  WHAT WAS THAT EXPERIENCE LIKE FOR YOU?
I have! Looking back, I have been in therapy at many different points in life. I find therapy to be a place where I can be completely honest about myself, how I am feeling, and the disappointments I am processing. Therapy has allowed me to become more self-aware, vulnerable, and has helped me understand more of my value of who God created me to be. I am definitely a work in progress and have a lot more growth and discovery to do, but therapy has been WONDERFUL!
3. WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO is CONSIDERING COUNSELING?

I would say YOU are worth it. You are worth the investment in yourself and in your healing journey. Counseling takes work and it can be uncomfortable or messy, but I promise that this process is one that can be full of healing and wonder! It does take courage, but please know that you are not alone at any point in this process.

4. WHAT ARE YOUR SPECIALTIES?

I am open to working with all different types of clients! I have experience working with children, teens, young adults, and women. I am passionate about walking alongside others struggling with body image issues and identity issues. Another passion of mine is to provide support to those who are struggling in their relationships and are having relational conflict.

5. what is one random or fun fact about you?

I once swam with sharks and stingrays in Belize, which was TERRIFYING and AWESOME all at the same time!
