    Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach

My life goal as a human is to love people well, and my primary goal as a counselor is to make you feel seen, known, and valued as the unique individual you are. I implement a strengths-based approach that highlights the various ways you were designed, builds upon resources you already have, and empowers you to learn and grow in new ways. I aim to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself, experience the full range of emotions just as God intended, and work collaboratively with me toward your goals.

Healthy relationships are essential, and I value a systems-based approach in which I get to know you by considering the full scope of who you are, who you have around you, and your environment. We, as humans, do not live in isolation. A systems lens helps us to consider problems and work toward your goals with the fullest understanding of how you came to be, who you are now, and where you are going.

    What to Expect in Therapy

Therapy can feel scary to start, and there can be fear around being vulnerable and trusting someone else with your personal life, perhaps even sharing things you have never talked about. My goal is to set your heart at ease and invite you into the freedom that comes with sharing and being known for who you are; the good, bad, weird, and lovely – every beautiful piece of how God made you. We will work together to set a pace that feels right for you, and we will check in frequently to ensure we are on the right track.

In our initial sessions, our focus will be on getting to know each other, making sure we are a good fit, answering any questions you have about the therapeutic process, and creating goals for our time together. As we build trust and collaborate, we will continually assess our progress toward your goals, make new ones, and work toward the life you want to live.

As a Christian counselor, I am happy to incorporate scripture, prayer, and other spiritual practices into our sessions. I will follow your lead, and there is no pressure to involve spirituality if you would not like to. I can also integrate forms of creative expression (art, music, etc.) into your therapeutic process if you desire.

    Personal Qualifications and Experience

I have always had a heart for people with the desire to know and love them well. I have been a camp counselor for seven years and a youth leader for three. I love to work with children, teens, and young adults. I am also passionate about marriage, healthy relationships, and family reconciliation with a focus on strong interpersonal communication.

I have been interested in psychology since taking my first class in high school, and after a student counseling internship during my undergrad at the University of San Diego, I knew it was the right path for me. As your counselor, I would feel honored to walk with you through the highs and lows of life, celebrating with you in your joy and sitting with you in your pain.

I am currently a Master’s student at Colorado Christian University pursuing a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Marriage and Family emphasis. I enjoy working with couples, families, and individuals.

    Personal Interests

I LOVE people, especially spending time with my husband, family, and community of friends. But, I am actually an introvert! I love painting, reading, creative writing, time outside playing pickleball and paddle boarding, park nights and game nights with friends, cooking, and baking (I have a major sweet tooth).

I am married to my amazing husband Tristen, and we cannot wait to get a Bernese Mountain Dog named Moose soon! We also have dreams of one day owning our own Christian summer camp and having lots of sweet farm animals.
