Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach

The more I experience therapy, the more I have come to appreciate the fluid dynamic it carries. For me, that is what excites me about providing therapy. Therapy does not come with a “how to manual” nor is it predictable at the same time. I thrive in an environment that is always challenging me and I look forward to walking alongside individuals, understanding their goals and embracing a person-centered approach. Therapy should be centered around what the client is wanting to accomplish and what the client wants to work through. My goal is to establish that with the client and collaborate on a plan to meet those goals.

What to Expect in Therapy

Therapy can often seem like an intimidating task to embark upon. I hope to foster an environment that feels welcoming and safe. One where the client expects not to be judged and is able to disclose what is on their heart. Our experiences are ones we typically keep to ourselves. My hope is that therapy can be a place where there are rigid expectations but is a place where we can work together to reach the goals the client is hoping to accomplish.

This environment is supported by a confidentiality agreement that provides a place where what the client shares is not shared outside the counseling room. This typically provides comfort to individuals concerned about divulging the personal information with me and allows us to focus on the goals the client has for themself.

Personal Qualifications and Experience

While I recently joined the counseling field, I have had years of experience as a client. Fortunately, I was supported by some amazing counselors who gave me a heart for this profession and led me to the Masters of Counseling program at Colorado Christian University after spending 10 years in the Technology industry. Life is extremely challenging to navigate on your own and I appreciated having an unbiased individual I could confide in. It has been extremely rewarding to build a relationship with someone that knew my life story and helped best prepare how to navigate what is to come.

Personal Interests

I am a proud mom of 3, wife and Colorado native. I love to be active, be outdoors, watch a good show, relax with a good book and be with my family. I am an animal lover and count our 2 dogs as family members as well. My family is active in our local church, and we share a strong will to do what the Lord has for us. I am thrilled to be presented the opportunity to work with you!
