Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach

I believe that meaningful change often begins with significant life events, moments that shape who we are and who we’re becoming. Your journey is unique, and so are the challenges you face. My approach is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for your individuality. I strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported.

Every session is tailored to your specific needs and goals because therapy is not just a method, but a relationship built on trust, collaboration, and care. You should never have to face life’s trials alone. Together, we’ll explore the approaches that best support your growth, healing, and well-being.

Your feedback is an essential part of the process. If something isn’t resonating, I want you to feel safe and empowered to speak up. You are greatly valued, and your voice matters every step of the way.

what to Expect in Therapy

Taking the first step by seeking support is an act of courage. Whether this is your first experience with counseling or you are returning after previous sessions, my goal is to create a compassionate, personalized environment where your voice and story are honored.

You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to tailor the therapeutic process to what feels authentic and meaningful for you. I find inspiration in these guiding principles:

– “Wonder is the beginning of wisdom.” Embracing curiosity opens the door to new insights.

– “What if today is the start of something new?” Each session is a fresh opportunity to grow, reflect, and move forward.

– “Let’s try, even if it’s hard.” Growth often requires courage to take small, brave steps.

Together, we will navigate your path with openness and care, holding to your pace and goals.

Personal Qualifications and Experience

I have over 10 years of experience mentoring youth and young adults, a role I find both meaningful and deeply rewarding. I especially enjoy working with high school students, as this stage of life is uniquely transformative, marked by profound growth, identity formation, and emerging challenges.

While my background is rooted in supporting adolescents and young adults, I am equally passionate about working with teens and adults of all ages. Without empathy and kindness, authentic connection is difficult to build; these values guide my work as I seek to foster genuine relationships and discover what makes you uniquely who you are.

In addition to my mentorship work, I bring more than a decade of leadership experience, which has further developed my capacity to support, empower, and walk alongside you in a way that honors your strengths and story.

Personal Interests

I am a big fan of good stories, wide-open spaces, and slow mornings with coffee in hand. When I’m not working or studying, you will find me with a book in hand, a pup on my lap, and probably dreaming of our next family adventure.

I live with my husband, our son, and three furry companions who keep life fun and a little messy. We love being outdoors, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and making memories in unexpected places. Life is full of beautiful moments, and we try to chase as many as we can.

“We develop hope not during the easy or comfortable times, but through adversity and discomfort.”

“Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer.”

— Samwise Gamgee, The Two Towers

“I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.”
