Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach

I love the saying, “For many people the writing is on the wall, but the therapist helps hold the flashlight”. 

As your therapist, my job is to come alongside you in your journey to provoke insight and reflection. Together, we will work to restore hope and a path forward through uncertain or dark times. With honesty and empathy, we will unpack your story in a nonjudgmental space where you can come as you are. 

In a safe, nurturing environment, you will feel validated and heard as your story is met with kindness and compassion. You will be supported and empowered every step of the way.

What to Expect in Therapy

During our initial session, we will spend time getting to know each other so we can build a positive therapeutic relationship on a foundation of trust. From there, we will establish goals and you will explore your thoughts and feelings, release suppressed emotions, and work through unprocessed trauma in further sessions. I will present you with functional, everyday tools to improve day-to-day life, relationships, and communication. 

Therapy is not “one size fits all”. We will assess your needs each session and adapt which techniques and interventions are most helpful in addressing your goals. I will incorporate a strength-based perspective and solution-focused approach to help you live life with intention and focus. 

We all experience seasons of feeling unmotivated or find ourselves in ruts we can’t seem to get out of.  I am passionate about partnering with you to achieve positive change in your life. If you choose, we can work on cultivating and maintaining meaningful relationships, navigating life changes, creating healthy boundaries, work-life balance, mindfulness, and stress management.

My faith has helped me grow as a person and as a therapist. I am happy to modify sessions to incorporate prayer and scripture if you desire.

Personal Qualifications and Experience

I am a Flagler College Alumna (Go Saints!). I pursued my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University in 2018. I became fully licensed in 2021. I hold a license to practice in both Florida and New York. I have experience working with a wide variety of diverse clientele in multiple treatment settings such as community mental health centers, college campuses, drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers, and more.

I am especially passionate about working with mothers during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. I also love working with those who have family members or close friends who struggle with alcohol and drug addiction. I work primarily with individuals 18 and older as well as couples who are interested in premarital counseling (SYMBIS certified). Additionally, I have training in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy.

Personal Interests

I was born and raised in New York and moved to Florida to attend Flagler College where I fell in love with St. Augustine. Since graduating in 2015, I met my future husband on a cruise with friends. We love cruising and go as often as we can! 

My favorite days are spent outside at the beach with my husband, daughter, and our dog, Henry, living out the saying “We may not have it all together, but together we have it all”. Some of my favorite activities include camping, music, cooking, reading, and all things organization!
