“There’s some good in this world… and it’s worth fighting for.” – Samwise Gamgee

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39

Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach

Although it sounds cliché, one of my favorite things about my job is you! Your story is uniquely powerful, important, and valuable, and I consider it a great honor to walk with you as a co-sojourner in life. You don’t need me to tell you that life can be hard; there are ups, downs, challenges, and trials. No matter where you currently find yourself, together we will work to discover that life is also incredibly beautiful.

My role as your therapist is to foster an intentional, safe environment for you — a space for you to be your genuine self. Our time will be free of judgment, full of authenticity, and marked by facing challenges head-on. Whether you are eight or eighty-eight, you have immense value and a distinct voice and story being shaped and refined. I am committed to openness and trust, and to you — through the tears, the joy, the mourning, and the celebration.

What to Expect During Therapy

From personal experience, I know the hardest step on a therapeutic journey is the first: walking into a room with someone you have never met, prepared (or unprepared) to talk about some of the most sensitive aspects of yourself.

You can expect to be seen, heard, and known. We will focus on flexible, intentional goal setting and your healing — whatever that may look like. Different strategies work differently for different people; after all, you are unique. With that in mind, I’m always open to feedback and trying new things. We will work together to achieve tangible growth and celebrate each step along the way.

Personal Qualifications and Experience

I began my journey in higher education by obtaining a BBA in Management from Baylor University, but I quickly realized that my favorite part of college was the people, stories, and growth (not to say my degree isn’t useful—I had a great time, promise!). While spending over five years pastoring adults and youth in the Colorado Springs/Monument area, I quickly became aware of my limitations, specifically, around the critical and growing field of mental health. To better serve those whom I cared for, I obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health to continue to serve others in the areas where they need it most.

Throughout my life, I have been dedicated to volunteering with children, adolescents, and young adults, alongside extensive experience facilitating men’s groups. Whether advocating for suicide prevention and healthy relationships in public schools, speaking at church events, utilizing my business background to cultivate meaningful connections, or even working as a dude ranch cowboy (yes, really!), my core values have always centered on care, intimacy, and growth. It is a privilege to bring these values into the counseling room.

Personal Interests

I’m a pretty big fan of all things sports, whether watching or playing. I grew up in Chicago, so the hybrid of food and fandom found there is dear to my heart. I’m a big music fan as well and definitely have my nerdy niches scattered throughout a wide variety of genres.

I’m happily married to the girl I met in the lunch line on the first day of college, and we love going on adventures together.
