Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach
My approach to counseling is grounded in the belief that we all have the capacity for growth and healing. I will provide a safe, welcoming environment where you can freely explore your thoughts and feelings, develop new coping strategies, and work toward your personal goals. With a strong foundation in both psychological theory and practical counseling skills, it is my goal for you to feel met with compassion and effective support throughout your therapeutic journey.
My counseling style is rooted in person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and attachment theory. Our beliefs and thoughts impact our behavior; much of what we believe and think in the here and now is directly related to experiences from the past. By integrating faith-based principles with professional counseling practices, I hope to help you heal from your past, navigate your present, and carve a path forward to a hopeful future.
What to Expect in Therapy
I aim to offer you the highest quality care that is tailored to your unique needs. As you entrust me with your story and we build rapport, we will collaborate on your goals and create a plan to help you meet them. During our time together, you can expect me to show up ready to aid you in navigating life’s challenges with empathy, respect, and professionalism.
If you are ready to embark on a journey toward improved mental health and wellness, I am here to support you every step of the way. Let’s work together to find the path that leads to your personal growth and healing!
Personal Qualifications and Experience
With a deep passion for psychology, I hold an Associate of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Colorado Christian University (CCU). I am advancing my expertise as a student in the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at CCU, with an expected graduation in 2025.
I have robust experience with both church hurt and grief. I have worked as a behavioral health technician at a detox and crisis center which underscored my passion for helping people heal from trauma and substance abuse. I also specialize in building strong relationships, establishing boundaries, and improving communication.
Personal Interests
I live in the beautiful state of Florida and am a mom to three wonderful adult children. I am known as the “office mom” and the “organizer” wherever I have worked! My most treasured pastime is reading and traveling to out-of-the-way small towns.
