Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach
Therapy is a place where you can learn more about yourself, your strengths, and the unique story that makes you special. No matter the pain, challenges, or circumstances that brought you here, I believe growth and change are always possible.
Your story matters. The experiences you have had, the relationships that shaped you, and the values you hold all contribute to who you are. No two people or two life experiences are the same. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, seen, and accepted. Rather than focusing solely on reducing problems, I believe therapy can help you move toward a life that is more authentic, purposeful, and consistent with who you want to be.
Every person has inherent worth and dignity. Whether you are navigating loss, uncertainty, anxiety, relationship struggles, life transitions, or other challenges, my hope is to provide you with a compassionate, safe environment where you can learn and grow.
Your experiences have influenced who you are, but they do not have to determine where your story goes. We cannot rewrite the chapters that have already been written, but we can explore the choices available to you today and the direction you want the next chapters of your life to take.
What to Expect During Therapy
Beginning therapy can be intimidating; it is completely natural to feel nervous or uncomfortable. No matter where you find yourself, I will create a non-judgmental space where you feel safe to show up exactly as you are. Your issues are neither ‘too big’ nor ‘too small’ to start counseling.
At the beginning of our time together, we will get to know one another in a collaborative, supportive environment where you feel empowered to ask difficult questions and explore what matters most to you. Throughout our sessions, there may be moments of challenge, insight, grief, and celebration, and I will walk alongside you every step of the journey. Life is not easy, but you do not have to do it alone.
I welcome feedback throughout the counseling process. If something is not working for you or if you have questions, I encourage you to share that with me. Open communication can help lay the foundation for a more meaningful counseling experience.
Personal Qualifications and Experience
My background is originally in accounting, and after spending time in the public accounting world, I found myself continually drawn to people, their stories, struggles, and how they make sense of their experiences. I decided to make a career change, and I am so glad I did. I am currently completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University, where I am continually learning and growing as a therapist.
I have always been passionate about therapy and how it can change our lives. It changed my life and many of my loved ones’ lives. Over time, I have realized that the conversations I value most are the ones centered on relationships, personal growth, and navigating life’s challenges. As a counseling student, I am grateful and honored to have the opportunity to support you.
Personal Interests
My husband Kaden and I moved to Colorado about a year ago for his job, and we enjoy spending time in the mountains camping, hiking, and trail running.
I also love to travel. When I was in high school, I spent a year as an exchange student in Paraguay and have loved traveling ever since. Traveling reminds me that there are countless ways to live, think, and experience the world, while at the same time, beneath our differences, we all share similar hopes, struggles, and desires for connection and belonging.
I am obsessed with knitting and find so much joy in making my own clothes. When I am relaxing, I am often knitting while listening to an audiobook or watching my favorite shows.
