Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach
Therapy should be a collaborative and relational process. My approach centers on building a strong, trusting relationship with you, creating a space where you feel truly seen and understood. I don’t listen passively; I take an active role in guiding you by offering practical steps to foster change.
I also encourage open dialogue, inviting you to share your experiences and provide feedback about our sessions. Together, we explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, cultivate new, positive experiences within therapy, and work toward meaningful, lasting transformation.
What to Expect in Therapy
You will find our therapy sessions rooted in openness and collaboration. True healing and growth happen when we work together to explore and understand your emotions, relationships, and the underlying patterns that may be holding you back. Through this partnership, we will identify and unpack negative cycles of behavior, helping you gain the insight needed to break free from them.
My goal is to empower you to make conscious, positive choices, overcome limiting beliefs, and create meaningful, lasting change. Ultimately, I want to support you in unlocking your full potential so you can live the life you truly desire—one that reflects your deepest values and aspirations.
Qualifications and Experience
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Colorado and California. After studying Psychology and Early Childhood Education in college, I taught at a child development preschool for several years. I then went on to receive a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary.
While in graduate school, I worked at a charter school providing therapy to struggling teens and their families as well as a church counseling center where I provided therapy to couples and families in a live supervision setting. This allowed for extensive training and feedback from my colleagues and supervisors as I performed therapy sessions for an audience. I then went on to work at a non-profit counseling center for six years, working with teens, college students, individuals, and couples. After my work there, I opened a private practice and began teaching and speaking at local churches, schools, and non-profits about mental health and relational wellness.
In my doctoral program, I continued to deepen my skill set and received further consultation and supervision of my clinical work. I completed a dissertation designed to equip parents and caregivers with tools grounded in interpersonal neuroscience and the life and ministry of Jesus to support optimal development of the whole child: social, emotional, psychological, and spiritual. I have had the opportunity to present my doctoral work to my community and enjoy empowering others with science and faith-based practices.
Personal Life and Interests
I love exploring the outdoors with my husband, our three children, and our Bernese Mountain Dog, Gus. Living in Colorado provides endless opportunities to connect with nature, and I truly cherish our family road trips as we discover new sights together.
I am also deeply passionate about the journey of motherhood. I volunteer at my local MomCo group where I can connect with others and help build a supportive community.
