“We think of things as helpful that actually aren’t and think of other things as unhelpful that in reality leave us stronger and wiser.” – Malcolm Gladwell
Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach
Growth and healing look different for every person. My role as your therapist is to create a safe space for you to explore and identify the support you need to live the life God created you for. I will bring a non-judgmental, empowering presence along with expertise and tools to support you in reaching your goals.
What to Expect During Therapy
In our first few sessions, there will be time for us to get to know one another as you share what is important to you, the challenges you are facing, and what you want to work toward. From there, we will collaborate to outline your goals and the steps to help you reach them. Flexibility and openness guide this process to ensure everything we do aligns with your unique values and desires.
Vulnerability is brave and can often feel challenging, but it is the first step toward personal growth and progress. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), tailoring interventions to your specific goals and journey.
Personal Qualifications and Experience
I’m pursing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University and previously earned my undergrad degree in Psychology from the University at Albany. I have always had a huge passion for psychology and understanding human behavior. One of my favorite authors is Malcolm Gladwell, known for his work exploring social phenomena. Books like “David and Goliath” fundamentally changed my beliefs about the power of experiencing and overcoming struggle, illustrating the redemptive work God does through even the most challenging of circumstances.
None of us is capable of becoming who we’re meant to be outside of community, and being a therapist provides me the great privilege of supporting you in becoming who you are made to be. I find joy in helping you improve your relationship with your significant other or with other family members and friends.
Personal Life and Interests
I love learning and reading about human behavior and social sciences. That includes autobiographies and books like “The Body Keeps the Score” and “Outliers.” I also enjoy working out, spending time with my family and friends, cooking, baking, doing puzzles, and hosting people I love.
I am married to my husband Ethan, and we have a one-year-old son named Elliot, who has been the biggest blessing and joy.
