Our Mission
Our Vision
Our Values
Our Culture

Cornerstone exists to help individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and thrive.

It can be easy to lose sight of why you do the things you do. You wake up, start your day, and go to work. You see clients, answer phone calls, reply to emails, and other daily tasks. Some days you engage with co-workers a lot; sometimes you hardly see or speak to anyone else. Sometimes you’re fired up and excited about changing lives each day, and sometimes, well, work just feels like…work.

Cornerstone’s core verse is John 10:10, where Jesus is talking about how the “thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. (But) I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

We want to help people heal from past hurts and traumas. We want to help restore marriages. We want to help people find hope for their future. We want kids to reclaim their childhoods and be, well, kids. We want families to stay together and to heal relational ruptures. We don’t want anxiety or depression or habits or addictions to run people’s lives.

We want abundant life for people.

That’s why we do what we do. That’s why we show up each day. Because we believe that when Jesus said his aim was to give people abundant life, he meant it. And we’re just crazy enough to believe that he can use us to help bring that to fruition in people’s lives, families and marriages.

We will help bring about a world where people are healed, restored, redeemed, and set free

When interviewing for a position here, you might ask, “I’m excited to be a part of Cornerstone, but I’m wondering what you are hoping to accomplish as an organization?”

If we simply replied with, “our vision is to help bring about a world where people are healed, restored, redeemed and set free,” hopefully in the moment your eyes would fill with wonder and you’d feel inspired to the core of your being, signing up to work with us on the spot.

But a month, two months, or a year later, you might be wondering how we’re actually changing the world.

Progress is incremental. People who often hit their big goal do so by hitting small, consistent goals along the way. The same is true for us as an organization.

Our mission is to help people heal, grow, and thrive, and each one of us, no matter the role, shows up to help people experience this in any myriad of ways. We answer a phone call or respond to an email, we sit with a client in their grief, or their hurt, or their anger. Sometimes the process is painfully slow going, but we believe in a long obedience in the same direction.

And slowly, the momentum builds. People do heal. They do grow. They do thrive.

Through one life, one marriage, one child, one adolescent, one adult at a time, we make small impressions in the world. While we will never, on this side of heaven, accomplish our vision in full, we will continue forward, honored to be a part of God’s good plan to bring life to the full to his kids.

Our Values define how we engage with each other and our clients

We’ve spent a lot of time paring down everything we care about into 4 core values, coming up with a fun acrostic to help remember them in the process:

S – Second Mile Service

We strive for excellence, going above and beyond what’s expected of us.

L – Life To The Full

We believe God redemptively uses both our joys and struggles to help us experience the abundant life Jesus died to give us.

A – Authenticity

We “come as we are,” while honoring the work God is doing in each of our lives with humility and vulnerability, believing in His transformative power.

B – Biblically Sound and Clinically Excellent

We value and employ the wisdom of God’s Word and His general revelation through research and evidence based practices.

Get it? SLAB? Like a slab of rock? And you work at Cornerstone? Yup. We’re clever like that.

At Cornerstone, values aren’t just words – they define how we engage with each other and with our clients.

If our mission reminds us and informs the world what we aim to do day in and day out (help people heal, grow, and thrive) and our vision reminds us and informs the world of where we’re headed (we will help bring about a world where people are healed, restored, redeemed and set free), then our values remind us of how we get there without losing the heart behind who we are as things ebb and flow and grow and change in our organization over time.

We’re passionate about helping people. Not only our clients, but our team as well.

We take pride in creating a work environment that is fun, challenging, rewarding and inspiring for everyone involved, no matter the role.

We are a diverse group of people with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, strengths, and even weaknesses. We deeply support each other and share a sense of faith-fueled purpose to create a world where people are healed, restored, redeemed, and set free.

We have full team meetings each week (usually virtual, but sometimes in person) where we come together to focus on what’s important; God, our clients, our skills, and our relationships. We allow ourselves to be vulnerable in front of each other (we encourage it!) and we are the first to admit that none of us are perfect.

Although we consider ourselves to be a tight-knit group of clinically excellent Christian counselors and unbelievably skilled administrative superheroes and marketing experts, we love meeting new people and look forward to welcoming you with open arms!

CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW & CLINICAL EXCELLENCE

CHRISTIAN COUNSELING CAREERS

At Cornerstone Christian Counseling we hold a Christian worldview. This matters because what a counselor believes (whether or not this is made overt) impacts the way they counsel.

In addition to this, we also strive for clinical excellence. We believe that God has given us the ability to study and implement clinical practices that have been proven to be effective in helping people heal, grow, and thrive. All of our therapists have at least a Masters-level education in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or other related fields, and all of them continually engage in post-graduate training.

In short, the therapists at Cornerstone strive to combine a Christian Worldview with Clinical Excellence.

Our office staff are highly trained in EHR usage, HIPAA compliance, Telehealth regulations, and all aspects of client care.
