“He also loves. He also has suffered. He also has waited a long time.” – C.S. Lewis
Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach
We were created in relationship, for relationship, by a relational God. Because of that, many of our deepest wounds are relational, and so is the healing. When trauma, betrayal, loss, or chronic stress enter our lives, they often leave behind shame, grief, fear, and disconnection from the people we love, ourselves, and even God. One of the greatest honors of my work is helping you move toward restoration, relief, and renewed connection.
As an attachment-focused therapist, I believe our early life experiences shape how we relate to ourselves, others, and the Lord. My work often involves looking back in order to move forward as we identify patterns, wounds, and old beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, while helping you build healthier ways of living now. Together, we’ll work to challenge painful lies, strengthen secure attachment, and create a deeper sense of safety, trust, and freedom.
My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and engaging, as well as structured and direct. I want therapy to be a place where you feel deeply seen and supported, but also challenged toward meaningful growth. I will help you hold both truth and compassion, grief and hope, and accountability and grace as you move out of surviving and into thriving.
What to Expect in Therapy
Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to your unique story and goals. And sometimes, believe it or not… joyful, and even fun! Our time together will be focused, hopeful, and grounded in truth, grace, and the presence of God. Our first few sessions will center on understanding your story, identifying current challenges, and clarifying what healing and growth might look like for you, your spouse, or your family. We will revisit the past, revise painful lies and destructive patterns, and revitalize your relationships, sense of self, and connection to God.
For Families:
If your child is struggling with trust, anxiety, self-esteem, emotional regulation, or acting out, you are likely carrying a heavy load as a parent. Many parents feel burnt out, exhausted, or hopeless — you are not alone! My work with families is designed to strengthen connection, rebuild trust, and support healing for the whole family. We’ll work through challenges together using a combination of child/adolescent counseling, family sessions, couples counseling, and parenting support. My goal is not just to help your child feel better in the moment, but to equip your family with tools to build healthy relational patterns and create lasting change at home.
For Couples:
I’m here to help you get your best friend back. Our past experiences and attachment wounds show up most clearly in our closest relationships. If you and your partner are feeling stuck in cycles of defensiveness, conflict, distance, or disconnection, therapy can help you better understand what is happening beneath the surface. We’ll focus on building trust, improving communication, and increasing emotional safety while helping each of you understand how your individual stories are impacting your current difficulties. You’ll leave therapy with greater self-awareness, practical tools, and renewed confidence in your ability to build and maintain a close, healthy relationship — all grounded in Biblical truth.
For Individuals:
If you’re feeling like you’ve had to carry things on your own for a long time, you don’t have to anymore. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or simply feeling stuck, our therapy space will be a place to slow down, make sense of your story, and begin moving toward healing. Together, we’ll explore your attachment patterns, identify underlying wounds, and build practical tools for emotional regulation, self-understanding, and healthier relationships. I’m here to gently walk alongside you through the valley and back into the lovingkindness of our Savior.
Personal Qualifications and Experience
I am certified in Corrective Attachment Therapy and Corrective Attachment Parenting, both of which are designed to help individuals, couples, and families heal from complex trauma and attachment wounds. I am also trained in play-based and expressive approaches, including Synergetic Play Therapy and sand tray. The majority of my clinical experience has been with clients navigating high-acuity trauma presentations, adoption-related concerns, and relational distress.
In addition to my clinical work, I am a passionate educator. I have presented on attachment and communication at the annual ATTACh Conference, assisted in the training and supervision of clinicians and interns at the Attachment Treatment and Training Institute, and currently serve as an Adjunct Professor in the Couples and Family Therapy program at the University of Colorado Denver. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling with a concentration in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Colorado Denver in 2023. I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado.
Personal Interests
I am deeply relational at heart, and my relationships with Jesus, my family, and my friends are the greatest joys of my life. Outside of the office, I am actively involved in youth ministry at my church and feel grateful to play a small role in helping the next generation know and love Jesus.
In my free time, I’m usually happiest with a book in one hand and my cat, Molly, in my lap. I love slow mornings, sharing coffee or walks in the park with friends, exploring the beauty of Colorado, and creative outlets like painting, mixed-media collage, and aerial dance.
