Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach
As a faith-based counselor, I am passionate about walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and wholeness. I believe that true transformation is possible because I’ve experienced it in my own life. My calling as a therapist flows from my personal journey of restoration, and it is my greatest honor to create a space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported as you heal.
I seek to help you see yourself through God’s eyes, as deeply loved, worthy, and full of purpose. While my foundation is rooted in Christian faith, I warmly welcome those who are spiritually curious or who prefer not to incorporate faith into the counseling process. My approach is compassionate, respectful, and centered on your goals, offering guidance that honors your values, wherever you may be on your path.
Whether navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, or life transitions, I strive to reflect hope and truth, empowering you to move from surviving to thriving. Healing is not only possible, but within reach, and it is a journey that we will walk together.
what to Expect in Therapy
Starting therapy can feel scary and uncertain, and I want you to know that those feelings are valid. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where we can build a relationship of trust. Together, we will collaborate to work toward your goals, at your pace and in a way that feels right for you.
You are the guide in this process, and I will honor your comfort level and readiness before moving into deeper work. While difficult emotions or memories may come up along the way, you won’t have to face them alone. I am here to help you navigate those moments with care and support.
Personal Qualifications and Experience
I bring over 20 years of experience working in both child and adult protection, where I have walked alongside individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging moments. In addition to my work in protective services, I have also served as a workforce specialist, helping clients access educational opportunities, achieve career goals, and realize their fullest potential.
Currently, I am pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Marriage and Family emphasis at Colorado Christian University. I am multiculturally trained and dedicated to helping individuals who have experienced trauma related to physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect, as well as those suffering from low self-esteem. Additionally, I provide marital and family counseling designed to strengthen and restore relationships. My professional background, combined with my academic training, equips me to support you with empathy, insight, and a deep commitment to your healing and growth.
Personal Interests
Outside of my counseling work, I am actively involved in ministry and find great joy in serving others through my faith. I value quality time with my husband, children, and extended family—those relationships are a vital source of strength and inspiration.
I am also an avid reader and lifelong learner, constantly exploring new ideas, perspectives, and tools to support both personal and professional growth. Music holds a special place in my heart; I believe it has a unique way of speaking to our souls, connecting us to something deeper, and can be a powerful part of the healing journey. In my downtime, I enjoy watching documentaries and engaging with stories that challenge, inform, and inspire.
