Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach

Dr. Edith Eva Eger says, “There is no hierarchy of suffering. There’s nothing that makes my pain worse or better than yours.” When you come to counseling with me, you don’t have to fight to be heard. You don’t have to convince me your pain matters — I already believe it does.

As a child of God, you are worthy of love, acceptance, and being heard. In our sessions, you can take off your metaphorical hat and simply be yourself. There are no expectations—come exactly as you are.

My approach is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, which believes every person is capable of change and healing when given the right environment: one of empathy, understanding, and unconditional positive regard. What does this mean for you? It means you lead our sessions, because you are the expert on your own life. Together, we’ll set goals that matter to you, and I’ll walk alongside you — listening deeply, holding hope, and reminding you that no thought, feeling, or action can take away your worth. When the journey feels heavy or filled with shame, I’ll be there to encourage you and help you find light on the other side.

What to Expect in Therapy

I know starting counseling can feel daunting, especially online. That’s why I aim to make virtual sessions feel as natural and supportive as possible. You can talk from your favorite cozy spot: curled up on your couch or bed, coffee or tea in hand, maybe with a fidget toy nearby. Wherever you feel most at ease, my goal is to make every session a safe, supportive space where you feel truly cared for — not judged or pressured.

Our work together will look different for everyone. Some sessions may focus on processing emotions or learning coping skills; others may explore past experiences, present challenges, or future worries. We might look at how the brain responds to stress or uncover barriers holding you back from your goals. No matter the path, your sessions will be uniquely tailored to you.

In our first few meetings, we’ll take time to get to know each other. You’ll have space to share your story, your goals, and even your passions, dreams, likes, and dislikes. I’ll answer questions you have about counseling so we can build a relationship of trust and understanding. From there, we’ll create a plan together to move toward the life you want.

Personal Qualifications and Experience

I have a special passion for working with young adults and older adolescents — helping them build confidence, navigate anxiety, and better understand their emotions. Having walked through difficult teen years myself, I know how much it means to have someone safe to talk to.

My qualifications include:

  • Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern – State of Florida
  • Licensed Professional Counseling Candidate – State of Colorado
  • M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling – University of Colorado, Colorado Springs
  • B.A. in Psychology, Minor in Anthropology – Flagler College

During my practicum and internship at Whole Kids Co. in Colorado, I worked with both neurotypical and neurodivergent children and parents, gaining experience in supporting diverse needs and perspectives.

A Little About Me

Outside of counseling, I’m a mix of homebody and adventurer. You can often find me paddleboarding, snorkeling, or exploring new coffee shops — just as often as you’ll find me settling down with a good book or a board game. I love learning new things (lately it’s chess!), and I share life with my dog, who’s been one of my best friends for the past seven years.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, exploring identity, or simply needing a space to be fully seen and heard, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. With telehealth, you can begin your counseling journey from the comfort of your own home, at a pace that feels right for you.
