“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8

Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach

My desire is to see you flourish and be strengthened as an individual, couple, or family. I utilize multiple evidence-based techniques to best meet your goals by implementing interventions from cognitive behavioral methods, motivational interviewing, biblical wellness, and the Gottman method for marriages.

When it comes to your wellness, I am passionate about your whole person: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. I will walk alongside you as you grow and learn to live an emotionally healthy life. I also believe the power of the Holy Spirit and the healing power of prayer can bring transformation and guidance.

what to Expect in Therapy

I will provide you with a supportive space so your experiences can be processed and healing can be achieved. You will be heard and understood as you work toward life change. I will meet you with compassion and work to earn your trust as I create an environment where you feel connected and comfortable.

Although the ultimate goal is not to dwell on the past, it is important to address the root of your hurts and allow the pain to be a place for growth and healing. It would be a privilege to come alongside you in this season of your life and help you find increased joy and freedom.

Personal Qualifications and Experience

I completed my undergraduate work in Human Services with an emphasis in Drug and Alcohol Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. I focused my early work on children and adolescents affected by trauma. I worked at the Children’s Hospital psychiatric unit, and then in residential treatment. At Calvary Church, I spent 18 years in marriage ministry leadership counseling couples, and I also served for 12 years as a leader discipling and counseling women in the Women’s Ministry. My experience with adults has been addressing relational stress, marital issues, and grief and loss.

I am a graduate student at Liberty University completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have completed training in Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and I am a Certified SYMBIS Assessment Facilitator (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts). I am currently enrolled at the Gottman Institute pursuing Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels 1 and 2 as well as Treating Affairs and Trauma.

Personal Interests

I have been married for 29 years and have 7 children whose ages range from 7 to 25. I homeschooled my children for 14 years and am passionate about intentional parenting. I grew up an Army brat, so I don’t have an answer when you ask me where I’m from, but I do love the Colorado snow. I love to travel, and I feel proud of our accomplishment of visiting all 50 US states.

Our travels are really food-cations and all about our animal encounters. I have a heart for missions and love to learn about other cultures. I enjoy cooking, bible studies, decorating for each holiday, and watching Hallmark Movies. The most important thing about me is that I love Jesus and desire above all else to live radically for Him.

Hurt people hurt people, healed people heal people, which makes redemption all the more powerful.

Sometimes the greatest battlefield is in our mind.
